09/09/18: Balloon hunt in the Netherlands
On Sunday the 9 September 2018 in the afternoon the famous yearly (since 1975) balloon hunt was held again. The balloon was launched at 13.00 local time at a secret place somewhere in the Netherlands. The balloon had a  crossband repeater (432.550 MHz up 145.475 MHz down with 1 watt FM) and ATV (1252MHz ) on board. different teams and individuals were chasing for the balloon and  Wil (PA8W) was the winner this year. The maximum height was 31.6km! The balloon landed around 16.35 local time just over the border in Germany, in a place called Emsbüren near Salzbergen. The balloon was widely heard in Germany, Denmark and in Belgium. I listen with a portable and the rubber ducky antenne on my balcony!
